Ratings dynamically account for opponent strength, meaning results against elite teams are valued more than results against weaker competition. Away performances carry greater weight than home results, and Champions League participation and performance provide a small additional boost to reflect elite-level competition.
The model blends current-season results with prior-season data at a reduced weight to improve early-season accuracy, while continuously updating as more matches are played.
